Why this page exists anyway
Sites in this space usually monetise through hosting and hardware affiliate programmes, and it is reasonable to assume any recommendation you read might be paid for. This page is where that question gets answered honestly, including when the answer changes.
What happens if that changes
If affiliate links are ever added, this page is updated before the first one
goes live, and it will say which companies and which pages are involved. Every
affiliate link will also carry the rel="sponsored" attribute, the standard
machine-readable way to declare a commercial relationship to search engines, and
will be visually distinct from ordinary links.
What will not change: recommendations are based on what was actually run and measured. Anything not personally tested is labelled as such.
